RISEC

International Network for Sustainability and Circular Economy

Why RISEC was Created?

Most circular economy initiatives focus on end-of-life waste and favour technological or, at best, environmental solutions. The social dimension—decent work, equity, and community wellbeing—remains largely overlooked.

With financial support from the Government of Québec, a formation workshop for RISEC was held in August 2024. Experts from Mexico, France, and Canada agreed to establish a network that fills this gap. The result was the founding of the International Network for Sustainability and the Circular Economy (RISEC), whose goal is to integrate applied research, inclusive education, and collaborative projects to promote circular solutions geared toward sustainability.
